Millie Brother Scholarship is designed to help the hearing children of deaf parents.

The Organization:

The organization which is funding this scholarship is known as Children of Deaf Adults, International (CODA).

Awards Per Year:

On average, two awards are granted annually. But sometimes, two full awards and three partial awards are also given.

Amount of The Award:

This scholarship worth on average $3000 annually. And this award is given to the hearing children of deaf adults and the motto of this award is to help the winners to pursue their education.

This is a non-renewable award and the first-time winners are given preferences. Although a student may reapply for this scholarship for as many years he or she remains in the school.

ii.  Through The Looking Glass Scholarship

This award is also organized to help the students with disabling parents.

The Organization:

The organization which is funding this award is known as The National Center for Parents with Disabilities and Their Families.

Eligibility Criteria:

An applicant is judged on the basis of:

1. Academic excellence

2. Community activities

3. Letters of Recommendation

4. Essay (which is to be written on the experience of growing up with parents with disabilities).

The applicant must be under the age of 21 and he or she should have at least one parent with a disability ( disability could be any kind such as a physical, visual, intellectual, or hearing disability and it will also include a person who is suffering from a severe medical condition).

Awards Per Year:

A total of 5 awards are granted per year.

Amount of The Award:

This is a scholarship of $1000 each.

And there is no barrier of the field of study. High school seniors and college students (who are under 21) from any stream can apply for this scholarship.

iii. The Chief Master Sergeants of The Air Force Scholarship Program

The Chief Master Sergeants of The Air Force Scholarship Program is for the children of Air Force personnel who come under the eligibility criteria. And the children should be dependent on their parents.

Here the applicant is given an opportunity to provide more and more additional information which can be considered by the selection committee. Well, the information should be like as follows:

1. If a parent of the applicant has been a prisoner of war or was missing in action or was killed in action.

2.  If the family of the applicant is facing extreme financial hardship.

3.  If any of the parents of the applicants has a disability (including deafness).

Eligibility Criteria:

1.  The applicant must be an undergraduate student.

2.  The applicant must attend a four-year college or a university.

3.  The applicant should score a minimum of 3.5 GPA.

4.  And the applicant must study full time.

1.  Proof of service (of the parents).

2.  Admission letter of the applicant.

3.  Application form.

4.  Recommendation letter or References.

5.  Official transcript.
