The Full List Of Community Service Scholarships

The scholarships listed below are organized by type of community service or other specific requirements. Many of these scholarships are available to students who have participated in any type of community service, as long as you can demonstrate significant involvement.

Some of these scholarships should be considered in more than one category (such as a social activism scholarship that also requires a high GPA). In these cases, I've placed them in the most restrictive category.

General Volunteer Scholarships

The scholarships in this list are for students who have volunteered for several hours. There are no specific constraints on the type of work you can submit for these awards, but you should be able to demonstrate long-term commitment and how you've had an impact.

This service program, which includes a scholarship, is open to students aged 17 and up. You must be willing to devote a year of your time to a nonprofit or government group. During your service, you will be paid a stipend. Scholarship rewards granted at the end of service are roughly $6,000, or you can accept a cash award of $1,800. The deadline is approaching.

This grant is available to college students who have proved financial need and are willing to volunteer 10 hours per week during the academic year and 280 total hours during the summer. Each student's full proven financial need is met by the program. Students must be enrolled in a Bonner Scholars program and apply through their university.

Leadership Scholarships

These awards are given to students who have demonstrated excellent leadership abilities (the capacity to direct and inspire others) as well as a commitment to community service.

This essay competition gives $1,000 to 25 students under the age of 24 who have taken on leadership roles in community service activities and whose families are Alliant customers (Alliant's service area includes Iowa and Wisconsin).

This award is given to high school seniors who have been nominated by their principals or guidance counselors for their commitment to community service and leadership. There are almost a thousand $1,000 prizes available. Typically, the application opens in October.

Financial Need Scholarships

These grants are intended for students who have volunteered in their communities and can demonstrate financial hardship.

This prize is open to high school students who have demonstrated honesty, financial need, academic accomplishment, and community service. A 2.0 GPA is required. It is necessary to have a family income of less than $55,000. Every year, national scholarships of $25,000 are awarded, as well as smaller state prizes. The deadlines for each scholarship differ.

This prize is intended for high school graduates who plan to attend a career college. They must have a GPA of at least 2.5 in high school, be able to demonstrate financial need, and have participated in community service during their senior year. The prize money is $1,000.

Strong Academics Scholarships

These awards are given to students who have managed to balance study and volunteer activities. They are intended for pupils who have received high marks and exam scores.

This award is open to graduating high school students who have demonstrated academic accomplishment as well as a commitment to improving their communities. Field of Study Scholarships

These scholarships are intended for individuals who intend to pursue specific degrees while in college.

This prize is given to students under the age of 19 who have done outstanding work in math, science, technology, music, literature, philosophy, or another discipline that benefits society. There are a total of 20 awards totaling $10,000, $25,000, and $50,000. Typically, the deadline is in mid-February.

Environmental Focus Scholarships

These awards are given to students who have devoted their lives to environmental causes.

This grant is intended for students who have demonstrated environmental activist leadership. Every year, six $3,000 awards are given out, and a professional film team will shoot a short film on the winners' efforts. In addition, the winner will receive a week-long vacation to California to participate in media appearances and environmental conferences. The deadline is May 1st.

Special Characteristics and Circumstances Scholarships

These scholarships are intended for students who have overcome adversity or who possess unique characteristics.

This prize is open to LGBT high school seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who are interested in community service. Typically, applications are accepted from January to April.

Special Affiliations Scholarships

These scholarships are available to students who belong to specific organizations.

These awards are given to Burger King workers or relatives of employees who demonstrate good citizenship and community service.

Certain Location or College Scholarships

These volunteer grants are exclusively offered to students who are from a specific area or who aspire to attend college in a specific area.

This prize is available to New York City public high school seniors who have excelled academically and demonstrated community leadership. Students must also be Pell Grant qualified and have a family income that is less than a specific amount. The prize money is $5,000. The deadline is January 31st.
