Awesome guitar teacher and person! I'd highly recommend Ellen to anyone, whether they're pro guitar players or they've never played before. Ellen keeps it fun and knows when to challenge you. Guitar Boot Camp with Ellen is also one of the best feel-good ways to spend a Saturday.

I have taken lessons with Ellen for about four years. I absolutely love her teaching style. As a student, you are in control of your learning. Whether you want to learn the basics, how to play hit songs, or how to play your original songs more efficiently or effectively, Ellen has something for you. I've taken lessons with other teachers in past and, while I learned a bit about theory from those other teachers, what I needed most was to learn to maximize the guitar as a tool for songwriting and performing in songwriter rounds. From the Nashville number system to "how not to suck" courses, Ellen is perfect for anyone wanting to learn how to play at any level and be a better performer. I look forward to every lesson and am always learning something new. I recently took a "Boot Camp" course as well. It was a blast and I can't wait to attend another one. I can't say enough about Ellen as a teacher and mentor.

Ellen proved me wrong! I can learn guitar, I can write songs and I even can sing. All secret wishes that have now come true. How did she do it? Simple, she listened carefully to me and then used that information to help me have fun learning and isn’t that the point, to have fun with it? She is a second generation music teacher so she has more knowledge about how to motivate and inspire students in her little finger than most teachers will have in a lifetime. Plus she is bright and understands the science of learning. My lessons with Ellen are the high point of my week!

My daughter has been taking guitar lessons from Ellen for three years now and she absolutely loves her! Ellen is not only an exceptional guitar player, singer and songwriter, but is gifted beyond words in her ability to teach. She also teaches fun and enriching classes outside of her lessons like “ Guitar Boot Camp” and performance classes. You can’t go wrong with Ellen!

Ellen is an awesome guitar teacher and performer! In the past two years she's taught me everything from basic strum patterns and grooves, to picking patterns, music theory basics, the Nashville numbers system, performance tips, and ear training (learning to pull chords out of songs that we hear and play them on the guitar). Ellen is a very skilled teacher, so even remote lessons on Skype are excellent. Oh, and she's a wonderful and patient teacher and person, and a delight to spend time with. Definitely one of my favorite hours of the week! There's a reason that Ellen is one of Nashville's premier guitar teachers, and she lives up to her reputation.
