Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
· Have permanent residency in Montgomery County, OH (MCOH). For list of eligible cities and zip codes, please refer to the list or open the supporting document link below.
· Be a 2024 high school graduate who has been accepted to and will attend any accredited, U.S. located, two or four-year college or university; or be currently enrolled as a first or second year student in an accredited, U.S. located, two or four-year college or university beginning fall 2024.
· Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
· Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with a demonstrated unmet financial need to be verified by the intended or current institution.
Submitted applications must include the following:
1. UNCF online program application.
2. Essay describing applicant's personal statement of career interest.
3. Current academic transcript.
Selected students will receive up to $2,000 one-time scholarship based on need in the fall 2024. Also, the names of the award recipients including their Personally Identified Information "PII" will be shared with the Montgomery County, OH(MCOH) for MCOH's internal use only (provided the applicants provide permission to UNCF to share such PII with MCOH).
Applicants must submit all materials by the August 22, 2024 application deadline.
The Montgomery County Scholarship Program, was established by the Municipality of Montgomery County- Ohio and UNCF to provide need-based scholarships to 2024 Montgomery County, OH high school graduates who will attend any accredited, U.S. located 2-year or 4-year college of university in the 2024-2025 academic year.
