Terms and Conditions
1. Background: The Astor Legal Criminal Lawyers Scholarship was established to encourage and support Australian law students who are passionate about pursuing a career in criminal law, but may be suffering from financial hardship and/or come from a regional or remote area.
2. Eligibility: Applicants must have Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency and enrolled in an LL.B, Juris Doctor or Legal Practitioners Admission Board course, or undertaking a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Current or former Astor Legal employees are not eligible.
3. Selection Criteria: The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of their resume, covering letter, an academic transcript, evidence of any financial hardship, evidence of being from a remote or regional location and possibly an interview with the firm’s principal. A Practical Legal Training placement with Astor Legal may be offered to the successful nominee.
4. Value: The Scholarship is valued at $3,000 as a one-off payment which is payable upon the selection of the successful nominee.

We hope this scholarship will help do just that.”
