My girls are in their second year and love Makarios. The diversity of the student base, the open learning environment means they are constantly engaged. They never want to come home at the end of the day. They even begged to go to school in the summer. As a parent, I love watching my girls find themselves and their strengths and talents. They have learned to read, write, do mathematics, think scientifically, and understand the processes of democracy without ever touching a textbook or having a formal lesson. My six year old has learned the basics of algebra 'for fun'. My twelve year old has found and developed the friendships that last a lifetime instead of worrying about trying to fit some social status norm. You'd never know which kids come from wealthy families or poor ones. They all shed their shoes at the door, get messy, play hard, and work hard. There is so many other things I could talk about here. But suffice it to say, there are great things going on at Makarios and the adults they become will be world changers.

What can I say about this school? Other than I am so glad we found Makarios! It has been a godsend for my twin sisters, I definitely wish this was around when I was younger!

My kids love it and actually wake me up to go! The freedom to learn and enjoy it makes such a difference! It really my 9 year old says he loves all the nice people and field trips! He was cleaning the van when I pulled up. I was so excited and said you can help clean my car anytime now that you know how! He has become more helpful at home with out me having to say anything. The moment I got to know about Maestro Goslin’s concert, I was all set to attend it and treat myself with a magical experience. I grew up listening to his radio and television appearances and seeing him in person was a lifetime opportunity. His fingers play piano in such a magical way. Looking forward to listen to him again.
