Emily is one of the most professional, compassionate, and intuitive individuals I have ever met. Her attention to detail and patience is incredible to experience as part of a birth team. My plan was to have a home birth with a midwife (Nancy Wainer, an amazing person who Emily actually referred me to). I knew I wanted to take the Hypnobirthing classes that Emily teaches and this was an invaluable service that my husband and I rave about to our friends and family. There is a wonderful, underrated connection between the mind and body. The classes teach you about this relationship (anxiety creates tension, tension creates pain, etc) and you learn to create a peaceful space within yourself to succeed in whatever you literally put your mind to. The class also addressed any worries that we had about the labor and what changes will happen when the two of us became 3! We discussed intimacy, financial stress, medical interventions, and whatever else was on our minds. It was like informal couple counseling that prepared us to be the best parents we could be. After the last class, I realized that I also wanted Emily present at the home birth and this was one of the best decisions my husband and I ever made. Where a midwife is there for the physical/clinical aspects of the delivery, Emily was the emotional and mental support that kept me strong and sane. Throughout the classes, she learned all about my strengths and fears on a very deep level so she was able to provide incredible support to me and my husband throughout my labor. I am proud to say, as a first time mom, my 4 hour labor and delivery was a success due to Emily's training and presence and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I used to be skeptical. But when I became pregnant with my second child, I knew I couldn’t have a repeat of the horrible birth experience which I had with my first child. I knew I could be stronger, healthier, and more natural with birth. Emily was amazing! She brought out the best in me and my husband and guided me through labor with my daughter, in the middle of the night, all while being pregnant herself! Time didn’t exist during the birth. My husband and I were looking for a hypnobirthing class to get ready for the birth of our second child. I found Emily from a google search and she was a God send. I was having a problem finding a class that fit my very hectic schedule. From our first meeting Emily was a very calming presence. What I really liked about the classes is that they were done on our schedule and in our home. The classes gave me and my husband some time to stop and take a breath. My first child was born via an unplanned c-section. It was important to me that my second pregnancy be as natural as possible. I was lucky enough to have Emily at the birth of daughter. She was very encouraging and helped to cheer me own. I was able to use the pain management techniques from our classes and address my fears to insure a beautiful birth. I really feel like Emily played a major role in helping me to have the birth I really wanted. I recommend using Emily’s services. I promise you won’t regret it!

Emily was absolutely amazing helping my husband and I prepare for our first baby. The techniques and steps she helped us work through in the sessions were life changing for us. Because of the immense help we received preparing for our birth we were calm and relaxed during the birth. I actually ended up delivering my baby alone on my bed because I was so calm and relaxed we didn't realize how far I was into labor. (I also had a precipitous birth) and my husband had run to the store to grab some last minute things. The calming and relaxing techniques Emily taught us allowed us to connect and prepare in a special way leading up to our son's birth.
